I have a spanish vocab builder where I can speak into a microphone and it tells me if I'm speaking like a tourist or a native...
For some reason, I landed on "la ropa interior" word list...
and la entrepierna was the first on the list.
Today's phrase:
Dame tus bragas para comer
yes well, when you know a little spanish I guess you have to learn choice phrases. Apparently this a phrase that someone in Guernsey used to use a lot.
Speaking of Guernsey, I went skating with someone who knows Todd, Scott and well everyone from Guernsey - her name is Patsy - do you remember her?
Wednesday 7th's phrase is:
No hay mal que por bien no venga - Everything happens for a reason - lit. All bad things happen for a good reason. Ah well...how apt for that day...
Monday's phrase:
El tiempo estará como nalga de lavandera
The weather is freezing! I don't have the book with me, I think the literal translation is the weather will be like a washerwoman's pants? hmmm...
Christmas dinner today at the office....

I'm back now, after a little pause.
Este tarde iré a patinar en Somerset House. Espero que nos divertamos!
Today's phrase:
In Nicaragua they would say:
El tiempo estará como nalga de lavandera.
Hasta luego.

Estoy muy cansada ahora, he jugado al badminton este tarde, y acabo de comer mi cena...
Entonces, aqui es la frase del día...
No hay mal que por bien no venga...
Y la palabra de ayer:

Hey, who's turn is it to get the tea?

Yo no toqué tu(s) xxxx..... (insert object).
Yesterday's phrase:
Quién acaba de tirarse un pedo? - Who just farted?
Hasta luego
p.s. please correct me if I make a mistake in my spanish phrases...

A funny smell...
Still grappling with dar and traer...
Today's phrase:
Quién acaba de tirarse un pedo?
Yesterday's phrase
Ya maté a lo que me estaba matando.
means I'm full (lit. I've killed what was killing me - i.e. hunger).
Adios!

Chau chau
¡Buenos días!
Talking about chau chau, I watched a Spanish magazine programme yesterday and a chef was proudly explaining how to make a huge bowl of what looked like umm poo and soggy savoury snacks. OK! I know they were chorizo but the way she was stirring the vat reminded me of the outside chemical toilets that I had to use as a teenager when I was camping in Hong Kong....
Anyway, today's phrase is:
Ya maté a lo que me estaba matando.
Yesterday's phrase:
¡Hablo hasta por los codos! - I talk a lot - literally "I talk even through my elbows"

Bienvenido!
¡No puedo creer que ya sea diciembre!
I thought I would start a blog to track my Spanish progress through the months and to share some thoughts daily!
Each day I will work on learning a Spanish idiom which tickles my fancy!
May be I might work out how to record one and then you can guess what I'm saying!
Today's phrase:
¡Hablo hasta por los codos!
Tomorrow I'll post the translation!
Today I focus on conjugating dar and traer as there appears to be loads of phrases with these words in them.
¡Hasta la próxima!
